Technology Grant

Technology Grant News

Bruno Associates Inc. has come through once more for the Belleville school district. The Clifton-based grant writer recently secured a $35,000 grant from Cisco Systems that will be utilized for wireless service in School No. 9. The grant was mentioned publicly at a Belleville Board of Education meeting earlier this month by trustee Joe Longo. “I know they’re working on many others,” said Longo that evening of Bruno Associates. “They’re doing a fantastic job.”

Earlier this year, Bruno Associates secured a $1.3 million technology grant for the Belleville district. The TALENT 21 Grant was presented to Belleville Superintendent of Schools Joseph Picardo by John Bruno, head of the firm, and grant writer Pat Lyons, in the Belleville High School media center on June 8. TALENT 21 stands for Teaching and Learning with Essential New Technologies in the 21st Century.

According to a Belleville schools press release, that grant will support technology-based instruction in four of its elementary schools, Nos. 4, 5, 8 and 10, along with the Belleville Middle School and St. Peter’s School. Each sixth-grade student is slated to receive his or her own notebook computer under the auspices of the grant.
