Call your school's office in the morning before 10:00 am. If you wish to get your child’s homework, inform the office in the morning and pick it up after 2:00 pm. Send your child with a doctor’s note upon his/her return to school.

What do you do if your child needs to take medication during the school day?

Only the certified nurse or parent is permitted to administer medication in school with the exception of students approved for self-administration of prescribed medication for asthma/allergies. Over-the-counter medication requires a physician’s note. Prescription medication requires written permission from the parent and a physician’s note stating the name of the medication, dose, times to be given and reason for the medication. Medication must be brought to the nurse in the original container by a parent.

Register your child as quickly as possible. You will need a transfer card from the former district, report card, health data, and residency information at the time of registration.

What if there is inclement weather?

Do not call the school. You may call 973-450-3555 between 6:30 am-8:00pm for information concerning school closings or delayed openings. Radio “WINS” will broadcast this information between 5am and 9am (32 minutes after the hour) and TV Channel 5 will also announce school closings or delayed openings. You may also obtain this information from the following Websites: www.belleville.k12.nj.us or www.cancellation.com. If there is a delayed opening, school will begin at 10:05 am.

Also, please take a moment to register for notificaiton services from this website. This will allow important community information to be sent to you via e-mail, voice, and text messaging to keep you safe and well informed.
