Lucy Demikoff is entering her twenty eighth year as an educator within the Belleville School District. After graduating from Belleville High School, she attended Kean University in Union New Jersey, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teacher of the Handicapped in 1991. She became a Special Education Teacher at Belleville High School from 1991 through 2001. During this time, she earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education and certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant from New Jersey City University. She earned a second Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision with certification as a Supervisor and Principal also from New Jersey City University in 2001. Lucy served as the Supervisor of Special Services for grades seven through twelve from 2002 through 2005.
Lucy was the Principal of Elementary School Number Three from September 2005 through June 2015. She then became the Principal of Elementary School Number Seven from September 2015 through June 2018.
Lucy is currently the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Belleville School District. She is dedicated and committed to assisting Belleville’s outstanding, hard-working staff with continuously improving instruction across all content areas that encourage students to reflect, analyze, and fully enhance their individual, academic growth.
Lucy is excited to also work with the exceptional and dynamic Central Office Administrative Team on district projects, newly implemented technology, and core content driven initiatives that will support our teachers, drive instructional strategies, and assist students to effectively accomplish their academic goals.
Lucy believes that modeling integrity, kindness, tolerance, accountability, and mutual respect for all students is equally as important as highly effective teaching and learning.
Lucy resides with her two sons who are without a shadow of doubt, her two greatest accomplishments. She enjoys spending time with them and supporting their academic and sports related endeavors.
