Your child must be 5 on or before October 1, 2020, in order for he/she to be eligible to enroll in Belleville Public Schools. 
 
IMPORTANT:  Kindergarten is a full day

Failure to present the following documentation may result in a delay in enrollment, attendance or proper placement of the student. 
 
  • Completed registration packet, unless it was done online 
  • Child's Birth Certificate 
  • Child's Immunization Record 
  • Child's Most Current Physical 
  • Custody/Adoption papers (if applicable)
  • Court Order or State Agency Agreements 
  • Transfer Card, Unofficial Transcripts and Report Card 
           
Transfer students must be signed out of prior school at the time of registration.
            
Students coming from another public school in New Jersey must obtain a transfer card with the State Identification number from prior school.
 
Proof of Residency
Homeowners must have a mortgage statement or tax bill, PLUS three supporting items from below.
  
Renters must have a notarized Landlord Statement Form (the form is included in packet) or a current/valid signed lease (with child/children listed as occupants and landlord contact info), PLUS three supporting items from below.

Proofs of residency must include items from the following categories; Cable bill, telephone bill, PSE&G bill, cell phone bill, water bill, bank statement, New Jersey Driver's license, or recent paycheck/stub.

If your child has an IEP or Section 504 accommodation plan, Please indicate at the time of registration or contact Special Services 973-450-3500 Ext 1029.
 
The student must live 1.9 miles from the school and busing is only provided for Middle/High schools only. 
Students in elementary schools will be given their zoned school at the time of registration. 
Solid Navy blue shirt, Solid gold-colored shirt, or Solid White shirt with collar must be worn each school day unless otherwise directed. A Navy blue, gold, or white hoodless sweater or hoodless sweatshirt may be worn in addition to a long or short sleeve shirt.
 
Long or short-sleeve shirt. (Must not be tight, form-fitting, or oversized; white tee-shirts and shirts with print are not permitted) Belleville spirit/pride wear and/or Belleville Logo may be worn. Students who choose to wear a long sleeve shirt under a short sleeve shirt must do so in matching colors (e.g. blue short sleeve shirt over a blue long sleeve shirt).
 
Pant/Short bottoms or dress skirts (all bottoms are khaki (tan) or blue) must be neat and appropriate.
The style of the pants is a comfortable, cotton, straight-legged, stain-resistant and wrinkle-free pant that is appropriate for all school activities. No sweatpants, jeans, or leggings permitted (leggings are permitted under a skirt only). Sweatpants can be worn only in elementary school during gym days.
 
Footwear
  1. All shoes and sneakers must cover the entire foot.
  2. Footwear with laces must be tied.
  3. No open-toed shoes/sandals permitted.
