Leticia H. Diaz currently serves as a School Social Worker on the Preschool/Autism Child Study Team. She joined the Belleville Public School family in 2007 and has worked with students and families on all grade levels. In her role as School Social Worker Mrs. Diaz strives to support each student and family so that they have a smooth transition to the public school system. Mrs. Diaz assists Spanish speaking families by translating in their communications with educators to ensure there is a clear and comprehensive collaboration.

Prior to joining the Belleville Public School District, Mrs. Diaz worked in a private educational setting. This role entailed working with students on the elementary and secondary levels exhibiting emotional and behavioral difficulties. Until recently Mrs. Diaz provided psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families at a local mental health agency. In addition, Mrs. Diaz worked for two years as a social worker with the New Jersey Early Intervention System. Mrs. Diaz earned her Master’s of Social Work Degree at Barry University and Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Rutgers University. Mrs. Diaz is married with a toddler and a loving family dog.
