🍎🌮 Today’s lunch is looking GOOD!
Our Maschio’s Food Services team served up a Burrito Bowl today with a choice of seasoned beef or chicken, rice, black beans, cheese, fresh toppings, salsa and tortilla scoops — complete with some seriously creative fruit presentation! 😍
Fresh choices, colorful plates, and meals our students can get excited about. A big thank you to our Maschio’s team for putting so much care into serving Belleville students every day! 💙💛🍎

We are incredibly proud to announce that Belleville Public Schools has officially earned Bronze Certification through Sustainable Jersey for Schools!
This recognition represents the collective impact of sustainability efforts happening throughout our District — from energy conservation and our Rutgers energy audit, to green purchasing practices, locally grown produce and sustainability initiatives with Maschio’s, and our Technology Department’s life-cycle management and electronics recycling programs — along with many more initiatives across our schools. ♻️💡🌿
A huge thank you to our Belleville Public Schools Green Team and all of the staff, students, departments, and community partners whose work helped make this achievement possible. 💚
Belleville will formally accept the award this October in Atlantic City during the NJSBA Workshop, and we’re especially excited that each of our schools will receive a Bronze Certification plaque to proudly display! 🥉
This is an exciting milestone — but we’re not stopping here. We’ll continue finding smarter, greener, and more sustainable ways to serve our students and community.

Public Notice: The Belleville Board of Education meeting scheduled for September 9 has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 10 at 7:00 PM in the Belleville High School Auditorium. Closed session begins at 5:30 PM. Formal action will be taken.
🚨Preparedness Through Partnership 🚔🚒🏫
This week, Belleville Public Schools, the Belleville Police Department, and the Belleville Fire Department came together for intensive, hands-on active shooter emergency response training at Belleville High School.
Led by Captain John McAloon of the Belleville Police Department, Tina Iaccheo, Assistant Superintendent of Business and Dr. Matthew Sullivan, Director of District Safety and Security, the training placed first responders and school officials into realistic, real-time scenarios designed to strengthen communication, coordination, decision-making, and emergency response.
The exercises were intentionally hands-on, engaging, and realistic, giving participants the opportunity to work through the types of complex situations that require multiple agencies to respond together quickly and effectively.
We hope these skills are never needed—but preparedness cannot begin when an emergency happens. Training together now helps ensure that our schools and first responders know how to work together when every second matters.
We are incredibly grateful to the men and women of the Belleville Police Department and Belleville Fire Department for their time, expertise, and continued partnership with our schools.
